Confirmation Yr. B
1) Year B: We will be focusing on the catechism of the Church
  • We will be meeting every Tuesday except the first Tuesday of the Month
  • Confirmation session (class) will be from 6:30pm -8:00 pm.
  • Catechist will teach the candidates
  • Materials will be provided
  • First Day of class will be (TBA), in the Parish Hall.
  • 2 mandatory "Days of Reflection" (Retreats)
2) Confirmation Retreat:
  • There will be an additional fee for the weekend retreat.
  • We will have a fund rasier to help out with the cost of the retreat.
  • It's mandatory that all candidates attend this retreat in order to recieve the sacrament of confirmation.
  • We will be having a meeting on (TBA) from 6-8pm. in the parish hall to talk about the weekend retreat.
3)We are working towards a Family Ministry
  • Parents must attend:
    1. One Evangelization retreat in the two year process.
    2. Parent Workshops and Meetings
    3. Family Masses at 5:30pm.
  • Faith Companion (Sponsor) Reminder:
    • Must be 16yrs. old or older / if married, be married by the Church / Confirmed Catholic
    • Must have time for candidate / live locally / accompany the candidate to mass
    • Attend and Evangelization retreat
    • Recommended that the candidate choose his/her Faith Companion
  • Candidate:
    • Must:
      1. Attend Mass and 6 life nights throughout the confirmation year.
      2. Complete 30 hours of Community service
      3. Learn Prayers: Our Father, Hail Mary, Creed, Act of Contrition and the Ten Commandments, Seven Sacraments, and Gifts of the Holy Spirit
      4. Attend all classes, days of reflection (retreats)
      5. The candidate will be tested on material discussed in class.
  • Interview:(Purpose: to evaluate candidate's progress)
    • Parents and faith companions are asked to attend (Candidates may not attend interview without a parent or legal guardian)
    • Things we look for: Mass attendance, community service, prayers, attendance, progress on test, and there progress in the program.
